  • CoL launches online LPC

  • 15th October 2010
  • The College of Law is launching an online Legal Practice Course (LPC) in an innovative move that will use the latest e-learning technology providing greater flexibility to students.  It will also increase students’ one-to-one supervision from tutors.

  • The course is due to start next February and follows the CoL’s launch earlier this year of the part-time on-line Graduate Diploma in Law.  The new on-line course, delivered via the S-Mode – the supervised online mode of study – will offer students the same amount of tuition and depth of subject coverage as students on traditional programmes at the CoL.

And students will also have access to the same resources including online learning technologies including i-Tutorials, computer-based Test and Feedback exercises and online workshops.   Crucially, the course offers flexibility to choose when they wish to study.

Sarah Hutchinson,  a board member of Business Development at the CoL said: “The launch of the S-Mode LPC … gives opportunities to students with work or family commitments and to people keen to change career so boosting the College’s agenda to increase diversity in the legal profession.

“A key benefit of the S-Mode is the one-to-one support from tutors, all of whom are qualified solicitors. Students are required to regularly submit ‘office quality’ work to their supervisor and receive individual feedback, helping them to develop relevant knowledge, practical skills and professional attitudes.”
