CoL at Bristol
- 24th March 2010
Around 200 students are expected to attend the new Bristol centre of the College of Law (CoL) when it opens its doors in September for its first year.
The expected figure exceeds the CoL’s target by nearly 10% following high levels of applications for the GDL and LPC.
And Bristol-based Co-operative Legal Services has just announced that it will provide regular work placements for CoL students giving them legal work experience.
Nigel Savage, Chief Executive of the CoL says: “Our investment in the Bristol centre speaks for itself. We’re based in a fantastic new building offering students a state-of-the-art working environment. Our highly motivated staff are all qualified lawyers and provide unrivalled levels of face to face teaching, which complements our cutting edge e-learning technologies. We have relationships with over 400 law firms nationwide, including three of the six biggest in the world, and provide highly-resourced careers advice services, giving our students the best possible start to their legal careers.”
The centre, based in Bristol’s Temple Quarter, will be the first CoL in the South East and is creating 40 new jobs. The CoL already has centres in London, Birmingham, Chester, Guildford, Manchester and York.
