BPP under pressure

We recently reported that BPP has been on the receiving end of various pieces of bad press, thanks to its oversubscription of BVC places, quickly followed by the SEC investigation in the States over its US parent company, Apollo Group.
BPP law school is now seemingly under close scrutiny both from its rival law schools, and law firms which have exclusive LPC deals with BPP. One anonymous graduate recruitment partner reportedly told the Lawyer that the investigation raises questions about the future reputation of the law school.
Nigel Savage, the chief executive at College of Law also said: “What’s to stop someone like easyJet buying a university and start selling ‘easyDegrees’? Apollo has a bad track record in the States, and I hope it doesn’t start to bring the UK’s legal education into disrepute.”
