  • BPP results error

  • 12th May 2010
  • BPP’s well publicised administrative problems continue with reports that the wrong LPC drafting exam results were posted on-line.

  • Weeks after BPP apologised for its over-recruitment of BVC students, some students discovered from its website that they were classed as ‘not yet competent’ after taking a drafting exam.

Some of these students phoned their sponsoring firms to tell them the bad news and asking them not to cancel their training contract offer.  However, a number of students were later called by the BPP to tell them the document loaded onto the website contained errors and they had in fact passed the exam.

Alison Wells, Director of LPC programmes, BPP Law School told AAL:  “Last month, a small number of LPC students were briefly presented with their drafting exam results which, due to an internal error, did not contain the final mark awarded to the student.  As a result, some students were incorrectly presented as Not Yet Competent rather than Competent.  The issue was quickly resolved, and, within hours, the correct version of the results was posted on the student intranet. Some students affected had not yet accessed their results and were unaware of the mistake.  All those impacted were contacted personally, and we have put measures in place to prevent a repeat occurrence.”
