  • This is one of the largest mooting competitions in the country drawing over 60 teams each year. After four rounds of knock out competition four teams compete in the final. The winners receive £750 each, a certificate and trophy to mark their achievement and the opportunity to gain experience with BPP's award winning Pro Bono Centre.

  • The 2010-2011 competition is now well underway with the semi-final round results due in towards the end of May.  To follow the progress of the competition, which will culminate in a final at BPP Law School, Holborn, visit the website: www.oxfordtextbooks.co.uk/law/mooting

Last year, Oxford University fought their way to victory in one of the closest finals of recent years, held on 1st July 2010 at BPP Law School, Holborn. In a tense final where just one point separated first and second place the presiding judge

HHJ Gratwicke paid tribute to all law students: "It's humbling because I know that 40 years ago when I was your age (sporting long hair and a beard!) I could never have competed at the same level as you. To reach the final of this competition, to demonstrate your ability to master facts, to present them in the way you have and deal confidently with my interventions, is quite some achievement and you are all to be congratulated."
