  • BILP offers work placement scheme

  • 25th February 2011
  • A ground breaking work placement scheme for LPC students is being set up by the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice (BILP).

  • Under the programme, organised in partnership with Bristol Law Society, BILP’s LPC students will have the chance to apply to spend at least a week in work experience at a participating law firm.

Interested students will be required to go through a competitive selection process and, in some cases, an interview stage with participating law firms that include Bevan Brittan, Bevans, Ashfords and Kelcey & Hall.

Successful students will have the opportunity to shadow fee earner and observe ‘real life’ legal practice.  Steve Dinning, who heads BILP, says: “What’s exciting about the project is that students will get the opportunity to work within the smaller firms as well. This project is unique in the fact that it is tied up with the Bristol Law Society, which has the necessary links with the firms and has stimulated the interest of the local profession.”
