Beautician awarded BPP scholarship
- 02nd December 2009
A legally minded beautician has been offered a £10,000 scholarship by BPP Law School after successfully taking on one of the largest property developers in the country in the High Court.
Georgina Blackwell, 23, who has no legal training, took on her mother’s legal dispute involving access to her garden after Bellway Homes ordered her to pay a five figure sum with costs for refusing them access to her land. After her successful legal representation, Bellway has reportedly paid her mother £75,000 for a right to access certain parts of the land. If she had lost the case, her mother would have faced a six-figure legal bill and costs and damages
Georgina is now deciding whether or not to accept BPP’s offer but plans to take the BPTC after a law degree. She turned down a place at law school at 17 to help run the family business.
