Legal Sector Graduates Still Highest Paid
20th May 2013An IDS survey has shown graduates working in the legal profession still top the graduate salary scales.
A law graduate can expect to pocket an average salary of £36,500 according to the research firm’s survey. This still stands as considerably more than a graduate role in the financial sector, which sits at £29,250, and £25,500 for other areas.
The research suggests things may start to look up for overall graduate employment rates over the course of the year, with a predicted increase in advertised graduate roles of around 8%. Good news for graduates, however aspiring lawyers could well be facing even more competition for positions: the survey suggests a decrease of up to 5% in graduate legal roles.
According to the survey, graduate salaries look set to be frozen at these amounts going into the next year – at least for sectors outside of law and finance.
