Would you say this is the most important year?

Why does everyone say the 2nd year is the most important?

Yup - Vacation Scheme, maybe a training contract, the first year that counts towards your final mark, plus you move out of halls and all that. It’s a tricky year and the most important in my opinion.

It can start to count towards your classification, but also it could be taken from your third year modules ONLY. Therefore, in question to the degree your third year is by far the most important, but your second will be a backup and of course is the year to start sorting out what you want to do.

@Andre I think it depends on your university whether you can just use your final year or not so @Mankdog if I were you I would check that first!

2nd year is certainly a jump from the 1st year.

So maybe to say it’s the toughest of the 3 years, would be more appropriate.

Yeah I agree with JenKneeFur - it all depends on your uni.  There will be a jump from first year, and it’s important not to aim for the magical 40% - really you need to be in the 60% plus range.

However third year is where the dissertation is, and it’s usually weighted more heavily thatn other modules.  If you don’t get a TC pre-3rd year then firms will be interested in your dissertation topic, and you will need it to be a strong mark to maintain what are hopefully good grades from scond year.

As with all uni modules, they are tough and in law you need to do well in them all to stand a chance of getting a TC!
