Right so here goes…
By the time I finish my degree due to taking a year out and some problems with the university giving me the information on deferring a year when what i actually done was withdrew myself for a year I shall not receive a QLD and therefore will not be able to do my LPC if i wanted to.

However, i am uncertain if I want to actively practice anyways, but would like to keep my options open.
Therefore I believe my option would be to take the GDL to convert my LLB Law degree to a QLD to enable myself to do the LPC. Is this correct or misdirected in some way?

Yes that’s corrrect if you are doing a BA in law. Wouldn’t it be worth seeing what you need to do to top up your BA to an LLB and thuse save yourself a year should you wish to go into law?

All LLB’s are qualifying law degree’s meaning you can just go straight to the LPC no?

So you either have a qualfying LLB or a non-qulaifying law degree - a BA.

What is the other option?

Nope you can get a non qualifying LLB if you take over 4 years to complete which i shall do as i took a year away in the middle and thus due to a mess up im having to return for what would be considered a 5th year.

Talk to a GDL provider and/or the SRA. There were plenty of people on my GDL who had placed out of one module or more and therefore only had to take the bits they were missing. You might be able to do the GDL part time under those circumstances and do something else (CV building) at the same time.
