im not a qualified solicitor, but in my final year of llb degree and from my experience of trying to find information out over the past year i have been told that the university for the degree is a big deal to the firms..if they are big corporate ones especially, i go to coventry which has automatically disadvantaged myself as i have been told by a solitior at a magic circle firm.However I want to work in a high street firm where it is not so much of a problem (as long as i get a 2.1!)
So it depends what kind of law firm you want to practice in to some extent.
