Ok, so its a bit of a taboo subject….is there actually any firms there that offer flexible training contracts? I am at the moment studying my LPC whilst I am working, have a mortgage and have two babies. I chose to take my LPC on a part time basis over two years. Ive hit a massive hurdle in my life where I am torn between my passion to become a solicitor and my love of being a mum.It is not an option for me to take a break as I now have an ever expanding 10k loan above my head. So… Do firms offer flexible working patterns? Flexible training contracts? It seems that anyone I talk to about it says “well its hard enough to get a training contract” “you might be offered flexible working in a few years”. Surely, as employers firms are also bound to adjust to the needs of their workers with young families?I would be grateful for any help and advise. I am mainly interested in Criminal Law so wondered whether I would be best off pursuing a career as a duty solicitor? How has everyone else got on with this in the industry?
