Similarly to the majority of users, I imagine, I’ve been through the process of applying for a vacation schemes over recent months and as yet, to no avail.
I’ve been fairly ambitious in my “selection” of firms to apply for with my interests lying in the realms of commercial and corporate law, leading to the targeting of London city firms and so-called magic circle firms.
As I say, I am yet to be selected and with just a handful of applications out there at the end of May, it appears unlikely that I will be.
My question is, what is the best course of action after this? Clearly its paramount to get some sort of experience and this is something I have done in previous summers, yet nothing as “prestigious” as a Vacation Scheme, merely informal work experience in high street firms or one-off courses in various places.
Any differing advice is most welcome, otherwise I assume I resort to attempting to gain something in a smaller/mid-sized firm and going from there.
