Work Time

I am thinking about converting to law, but do not know how much of my time will be taken over by my career. Im not talking about the studying, because I know that takes time and time well spent. But talking about hours of work at the office and/or at home.
How many hours a week.

Depends on where you work. In-house for a company with good work-life balance or the government could be relatively few hours (or even part time). Transactional work in a magic circle firm and you’ll be on call 24/7 and in the office more than almost any other profession. In between there are high street firms and more work-life friendly large firms. Criminal law could mean unsocialble hours getting clients bail from police stations in the middle of the night and at weekends, but fewer hours overall than magic circle—and for a lot less pay.
