It is rude to call people names. Having said that, it is perfectly fine to give a friend a health warning.
In Supersize me one guys states how it is fine for people to chastise you for being a smoker, but it isn’t yet socially acceptable to say the same to a fattie. I think the quote is, “Why don’t you stop eating you fat pig!Don’t you know what you’re doing to yourself?” perhaps you could ask Birdie if she realises what she is doing to herself? If she is aware then you should probably leave her alone.
Presumably she is over 18 and pays her taxes so she is well within her rights to eat herself into poor health and reclaim all those taxes through hospital treatment as a result of her greediness.
