The Senior Status LLB
In essence the Senior Status law course is the same as the undergraduate law degree. However, this course is only available to graduates and it only takes two years to complete, rather than the three for the undergraduate course.
As you can imagine this is a demanding course, fitting in fifty percent more work each year. Once the course is complete graduates of this course hold a qualifying law degree.
This means that if you want to become a lawyer, Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, then you are exempt from certain professional examinations. The Senior Status law course allows you to proceed straight to the LPC (the legal practice course for would be Solicitors) or BVC (the bar vocational course for would be Barristers).

Some people take this course as an academic pursuit with no intention of moving into the legal sector, whilst others take it as part of the process to becoming a lawyer.
This is a fairly important distinction. If you wish to become a lawyer, it is likely you would like to complete this process as soon as possible considering the multiple stages involved:

(1) LL.B (law degree)/Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL or law conversion course)
(2) Legal Practice Course (LPC - for the solicitor route)/Bar Vocational Course (BVC - for the barrister route)
(3) Training contract/Pupillage (the vocation stage of training)
Therefore, a better option may be to complete the GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) which only takes one year rather than the two year Senior Status law course.
However, a number of other people relish the chance to explore law on a more academic level. If you are the latter then the Senior Status law course should be considered as a good option.
