We offer a range of full- and part-time LLM programmes in both academic law and professional practice.
LLM in Legal Practice
The LLM in Legal Practice is for is designed to enhance your career progression by developing highly-valued legal research skills along with specialist knowledge of your chose area of practice. Our programme structure is highly flexible and has the advantage of enabling you to gain a master’s level qualifying whilst continuing your employment as a solicitor. Alternatively, you can raise your recently completed LPC qualification to an LLM Legal Practice by taking parts two and three only.
LLM courses in International Law
The School of law offers a suite of LLM courses in International Law. With a more academic focus, these courses allow you to develop the specialist knowledge and legal research skills that will equip you for a career in a rapidly globalising world. Our taught LLM programmes and our LLM by Research provide and excellent foundation for those wishing t to progress to MPhil and PhD.

The School of Law is located in Headington Hill Hall, a beautiful Grade II listed mansion dating back to 1771. Situated just a mile from Oxford’s beautiful and historic city centre, the hall has extensive gardens for students to enjoy which command stunning views over Oxford.

The School of Law is home to the Centre for Legal Research and Policy Studies and teaching staff are active researchers, many of whom publish widely in fields such as international law, law and religion, and human rights law. This means that the knowledge you gain will be underpinned by the latest academic thinking.
Unrivalled Support
In addition to the guidance, support and training our students receive from course leaders, personal tutors and other technical and support staff, our Student Support Co-ordinators offer advice on your course, finance, accommodation or personal issues. They will also regularly update you with information on visiting speakers, careers advice and course announcements. Each student on the Legal Practice course has a personal careers tutor.

Our LLM International Law graduates enjoy careers in international law, international trade and marketing, the international financial services industry, the United Nations and other international institutions, and have also entered management positions in multinational companies and governmental, and non-governmental organisations.
