  Founded in 2005, Azrights is a niche London law firm of Intellectual Property, Internet and Technology Solicitors.  They identify, secure and defend Intellectual Property Rights, and also provide a dispute resolution and litigation service for passing off, ownership of product, patent or other IP disputes.   Shireen Smith qualified as a solicitor over 20 years ago and founded Azrights in 2005 to provide an alternative to the traditional intellectual property service offering available in the market.  Shireen focused on demystifying an area of law regarded as esoteric and remote by many.  Believing that IP law should occupy centre stage for all businesses, Shireen has created a firm that offers plain IP – that is, just IP, and IP that is accessible and affordable. The work culture at Azrights is very friendly and everyone mucks in to help one another. They also benefit from discussing issues as a team and coming up with optimal solutions for our clients.

  Azrights focuses on internet and social media matters, and registers trade marks, patents, designs, and copyright and also advises on all of these areas. Drafting contracts and licences and providing dispute resolution and litigation services is also work they frequently do.

  The firm offers training contracts and paralegal posts to both law and non-law streams. Each individual will be judged on their own merits and we have no minimum degree requirement. The firm places particular emphasis on ICT skills, and in particular, internet skills. Being a niche intellectual property and technology law firm, a thorough understanding of all Microsoft Office products, social media sites, and web based technology in general is imperative.

  The training contract runs over a period of two years and Azrights will offer one training contract per year filling the position when it needs someone rather than in advance.

  Students attending the vacation schemes will spend time sitting within the office seeing how a firm doing intellectual property and internet law work operates. 

  Graduates will carry out administrative duties and learn a vast amount about the running of a busy and small firm of solicitors. As Azrights is a small firm, they can offer students the opportunity of learning a vast amount through one to one training. The vacation scheme will run in the summer from June through to September.

  Azrights offers those on their vacation scheme between £100 and £250 per week and trainee can expect themselves to start on £17,110

  Interviews will be held at Easter for summer placement. The firm will offer one place per year and the selection process will be comprised of a CV, telephone interview and an in person interview.
