All About Law. | 07.10.2009This is going to be the first in a long list of rants, ramblings and (hopefully) a few little gems on the way to helping you all get a career in law! We've been quietly preparing this site over the last few months following the masses of feedback that we had received over the last 12 months.
Put simply, Jack and I hope you like it! Any thoughts on the colour?! layout?! functionality?!Your comments really will be taken on board and we intend to use them to shape the way the site progresses in the future. Please use mine and Jack's blog to let us know what you think. Preferably the good stuff to me and the not-so-good to him thank you!
To briefly outline how this all came about (go to the 'about us' section for the full story if you're interested), I was half way through a history degree and was thinking of converting to law. Cue a visit to the careers centre, a few internet searches and peer-to-peer chats. I found out the basics such as the GDL, having to apply two years in advance for the big firms and needing to know this thing called 'commercial awareness'. Although I was particularly pro-active (ok, fine, a try hard!),that was all I could find.
In short, that is the main reason why you see what you see before you now. I'll keep it brief this time, but let us know what you think, what you like (and what you don't!) and whether there is anything else you would like us to add to the site in the future!
