I think the word is finally getting out there that Wills are important and that everyone should have one - no matter how old you are and even if you think you don't have anything to leave!

It is so frustrating – I had to spend nearly an entire day (a few weeks ago) on a case where a couple had defaulted on their loan (which they had secured against their property) and has been reminded, on a regular basis, to make payments for the last three months.

How did it get to be the end of February already?  The snow now seems a distant memory!!

Following my last blog in November the only exciting things to happen were Christmas and the snow.  The snow being exciting but not in a good way!  The main trouble being that the trains could not cope and so the number of staff being able to get into the office has been considerably less and therefore those of us who have been able to get in have had to assist – but as the thaw seems to be on its way I will be able to attend to some “normal” work now.

So after all the rushing around trying to get the files ready for the Hearing last month – the Trial had to be adjourned so I now have all these bundles just lurking around until they are next needed which has now been listed for June! (that was the Court’s first available time).

Since writing my first blog back in September my day to day duties changed from being the same old letters, appointments, research, to arranging meetings in Europe, Loan Agreements, Lasting Power of Attorney registration, preparing Trial Bundles and trying to obtain Expert Witnesses! (not all on the same case I hasten to add!)

Paralegal – as different law firms use their paralegals in different ways – I thought in my first blog that I should set out my background as to how I became a paralegal in the first place and also the area of law in which I specialise.
