  • Nick, the final year and the LLB Blog...

  • Nick is a fourth-year student, reading for a degree in Law and German at Cardiff University. He has just come back from Germany following an Erasmus year atthe University of Passau.

He is also the President of Cardiff Law Society, so expect the odd rant about that on this LLB Blog every now and then. Nick intends to become a barrister following his current studies so off to the BVC next year!

  • Exams are over and it is a first

  • Well, that was a shock! I've just received an email stating that results are out (a day early) and upon logging in, I find out that I am the proud owner of a First class LL.B. in Law and German! Crikey!

  • Undergraduate life is over!

    03.06.2010
  • Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it. That’s it. Yesterday I had my last ever exam (all being well) at Cardiff University, which of course meant that from 12pm yesterday it was party time! I’m not going to lie, this exam session has been one of the most stressful times of my life. I’ve been regularly stressed beyond belief, although I usually have a cool head and have a mere rush of adrenaline, rather than all-out nerves.

  • Masters in Canada?!

    01.02.2010
  • And so I'm in Newark Airport in New York as I write this, as I'm en route from Quebec City in Canada back to London, after spending a good 10 days in Canada with friends and also visiting McGill University in Montreal. My reason for being at McGill is that I'm applying to do a masters in taxation law there for the next academic year.

  • The next witness started by confirming his name, signature and the fact that the statement before him was his own and then things heated up.

  • Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all. I had hoped to get a report to you about my absolutely amazing experience with John Gardiner QC soon after the week itself, but one thing has lead to another (yes, mostly Law Society stuff, as we're heading to Edinburgh this weekend and it's busy, busy), which has meant that time had flown and we're now here 3 weeks after my week with the big man himself. Apologies for that, but I shall endeavour to let you know how it was and how I've been busying myself since then.

  • Crikey, we've just finished week 5! Time is flying, which is not something one wants to happen when one is in final year. This means therefore that we're already half-way through the first semester of our ultimate year of our undergraduate lives. They do say time flies when you're having fun, so that must be what's happening, as we, at Cardiff, are certainly having a lot of fun.

  • The dreaded final year

    08.10.2009
  • So we’re now in week 2 of what has already been a very busy start of my final year. This has come as a complete shock to the system after what can only be called a ‘relaxing’ year abroad in the sunnier climes of Passau in Germany.
