I'm interviewing for a fee earner in my department at the moment and whilst there are good candidates out there it astounds me how few actually turn up with no questions prepared for me and cannot event be bothered to find out a little bit about the firm before they turn up. I think people forget that an interview is supposed to be two ways.

I'm fortunate working for a good employer but 11 years ago I turned up with loads of questions about what the job was about and even questions like 'tell me what you would expect of me during a working day'. This would not only impress but also give me an idea as to whether or not that job was for me. However, if you are due to be interviewed by me this week, think of your own questions!
