Trouble with the RTA
20.04.2010The new RTA process is fast approaching and the uncertainty surrounding it is massive. There seems to be a perception that interim payments in relation to special damages, such as hire and repair, won't be allowed under the process.

The christmas backlog…
21.01.2010A bizarre start to the year with all that snow which has been great for new claims but seems to have meant that insurers have struggled to deal with post and so I have found that the incoming post and cheques are only just getting back to normal.

Will the new claims process ever be introduced?
01.12.2009I was lucky enough to be invited onto a Ministry of Justice working party meeting a year ago where I offered my opinion on the proposed changes to the system regarding the RTA process. One certainty that I took from that experience was that I needed to prepare for the introduction last month.

Road traffic accidents and charing MASS
19.11.2009What a couple of weeks in the RTA world. Firstly the Accident Management Association AGM where the world of credit hire companies meet and then the Motor Accident Solicitors Society AGM and conference. Both meetings considered the massive changes that are going to affect the industry next April with the technicalities of the new rules to the impact that the reduced costs will have on referral fees. I think the crux of both meetings in this respect was that there will be changes but until the actual rules are released the impact they will have is still under consideration.

Interviewing for a few earner
02.11.2009Well the radio 4 interview was really hard with a number of difficult questions but the feedback I've had has been positive. Just goes to show the diversity that legal execs can be put through.

Radio 4 is calling…
07.10.2009I specialize in credit repair/credit hire claims and run the department at Glaisyers Solicitors which I have done for about the last 4 years. Prior to that I joined Glaisyers over 11 years ago and was a fee earner, working my way up with a little of 'right place, right time'. I’ve seen a load of changes in the law with the introduction of the CPR, the ABI GTA and all sorts of interesting cases on credit hire.
