Sheridan, coffee and the GDL blog...
This GDL Blog is written by Sheridan Otto Steiger, a current postgraduate student at Nottingham Law School. Sheridan will be using this GDL blog to keep you all updated on the trials and tribulations of studying law in a year.
To explain a little more about our GDL blog writer, Sheridan graduated from the University of Birmingham in June 2009 having read Medieval and Modern History. Following the GDL he plans to study for an LLM in International Trade and Commercial Law before beginning the BPTC with the intention of going to the Commercial Bar.

To fill you in on the background – my friend’s brother is in the Lower Sixth and the school are busy tutoring them for their UCAS applications. The only problem is the careers advice is woefully bad and he has not been able to get any advice on the difference between studying a three-year undergraduate law degree compared to a three-year non-law degree followed by the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). Enter side stage, me!
